About this space
Hello Reader,
I’m Rishika.
I write about the journeys you can’t always see.
A Mother, writer, wanderer, gardner, IT Professional and a lifelong learner of what this world has to offer.
I am an Indian woman who has lived in three countries, raised children across borders, and spent years learning what it means to call a place home when home keeps changing.
I grew up in India, moved to Switzerland, and eventually found myself in New Jersey, USA. None of it was planned. All of it changed me.
Outside and Within was born from that experience: the feeling of being between places and between versions of yourself, and the quiet, unspectacular work of becoming whole in a new country.
Every journey happens twice. Once in the world around us, and once within us.

What you will find here
This is not a blog about perfect trips or curated itineraries. It is an honest record of what it looks and feels like to travel with family.
Family travel Real trips with real children. What works, what doesn’t, and what you will remember.
The inner journey Identity, belonging, and the quiet work of becoming who you are when everything shifts.
